THE DEEP DARK WOODS are musical outlaws delivering roots and country at their finest; winsome stories of broke-down, busted-up love turned to rust, and of betrayal, revenge and lust. This talented quintet from Saskatoon has etched the stark, cold bitterness of a Saskatchewan winter against beautifully haunting melodies and rich, eerie harmonies. Though comparisons to The Band are easily made, The Deep Dark Woods is an outfit with a distinctively heartfelt sound.

While OH MY DARLING’s prairie roots keep their feet planted firmly in the ground, these Manitoban belles will sweep you off yours with their feisty vocals, fast-fingered banjo, saucy fiddle and grooving double bass. Their first full-length album, released in 2010, topped national campus roots charts and received regular airplay on CBC Radio.

"Oh My Darling truly is the quintessential roots ensemble. This band of smoking prairie pistols can do no wrong… lend an ear people; it simply doesn't get much better than this."

-Jules Adolpe, Candor Shop

"[The Deep Dark Woods] is the best of its kind, masters of their genre, and well worth your time...”

-Berkeley Place
