Now in its 20th impressive season, Winnipeg’s GROUNDSWELL, is a dynamic group of performer/composers coming together with a shared and infectious passion for the performance and creation of new Canadian music. For this celebration of contemporary music from the Prairies, the group has curated an exciting, eclectic program showcasing the works of leading Saskatchewan and Manitoba composers, including Slam Dunk Dancing by David McIntyre, Adieu Babylon by Sid Robinovitch, and Three Unaccompanied Studies for alto sax solo, by Monty Keene Pishny-Floyd. The program also features works by the artistic leaders of GroundSwell, Gordon Fitzell, Jim Hiscott, Michael Matthews, and Diana McIntosh, each in their own right a celebrated composer and performer.
